Marabu Ink UV Ink and Laminates
Marabu Ink sells an extremely useful product that many don’t know they need. It’s a liquid coating (laminate) that protects canvas art and wall graphics from getting scratched, dinged, or damaged by UV rays. They wanted to promote the product in a digital printing magazine. We put together an awareness campaign specifically for this product including a couple blogs, social media videos, and ads.
TARGET AUDIENCE: printers of wall graphics and canvas art reproductions.
GOAL: Call attention to the product making graphics much more durable and protecting them.
ORIGINAL CONCEPT: A wall with bright-colored graphics on it and secret-service-style bodyguards standing in front of it, with a headline of, “A bodyguard for your wall art.”
I loved my initial concept, but the client did not.
SECOND CONCEPT: Since art is typically considered “delicate,” I decided to show art being tough because of their laminate. Worked with the designer giving them the idea of a wall graphic of a bodybuilder or something that looks tough and edgy. He did not disappoint with this elephant graphic.
Wanted to feature the headline and the product only, but the client wanted to include the list of main features.
GOAL: Create ad for Marabu UV ink for Plastics Decorating magazine promoting the use of the ink for plastic containers that hold cleaners or chemicals.
BENEFIT: Marabu’s UV ink is formulated to resist wear from water, heat, sun, and chemicals, making it a good product for printing containers that will hold chemicals.
TARGET AUDIENCE: Manufacturers of cleaners or chemical products or printers who label their bottles.
CONCEPT: This issue was being released in early February, so we knew we could play off of the season with something Valentine’s-related. I made the ink and the container a couple in a relationship that lasts. Again, the client wanted to list the major features instead of just using the headline and a sub-headline.
